Essential Question: How can I soar above expectations?

Location:

ESDS is located in the Glacial Lakes region in NE South Dakota, six miles north of Waubay on 446th Ave (Co. Road 1).

History:

Established in 1938 and built by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the original school house of Enemy Swim Day School still stands in the Enemy Swim District of the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate.  In the 1960’s & 70’s, ESDS provided education services in cooperation with Waubay Public School.  1983 began the transition from a 638 Grant School to a P.L. 100-297 Contract School. Presently, ESDS is chartered by the  Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate and operated by a local School Board. In December 2005, under the direction of Dr. Sherry Johnson, ESDS moved to its new home north of the SWO Buffalo Farm.  Enemy Swim Day School added a full service child development center in 2007 to meet the child care needs of families in the area.  Serving general and community education. ESDS continues to offer quality education in the Glacial Lakes Region!
